Book Empire Vol. 04

All the book news you need to know, on a need-to-know basis.

We understand how busy you are and how difficult it is to keep up with all the book news that’s being thrown at you every day. To make your life a little easier, we’ll compound the most important bits into 1 blog post every week, exactly telling you what you need to know. Please don’t worry your pretty little head about the possibility of propaganda or censorship. We’ll do that for you.

We’re done with looking back and moving forward to the better and more bookish 2014. To know what you can expect and to start saving up for all those awesome books you will need to read right away we’ve put together a list of the best lists for upcoming books in 2014:

If Young Adult is your bag and you’re not interested in anything else we’ve got the list for you. Book Riot compiled an extensive overview of the YA books to be published until June. In this post are so many awesome descriptions but our personal favourite has to be Promise of Shadows by Justina Ireland which reads: Zephyr is a pretty crummy Harpy, but she is one and she has to learn to own that power. So looking forward to reading about Crummy Harpies!

Flavorwire on the other hand takes it a bit more slow and only tells you what to read in January.
If you can’t deal with it being the year 2014 just yet, this list is for you.

Richard and Judy are the most influential book clubbers in book-town so of course you want to know their picks for next year!
Our book club never plans this far ahead…

Not really a book preview, but a book-related one. If you’re done with reading (we can’t imagine you ever are), you can always watch some adaptations.
The year will be filled with Dystopian YA-movies, Gillian Flynn books and the latest Sin City movie. Read the rest here.

But the penultimate list is made by The Millions. It has all the books you know and don’t know about and it will fill up your reading list in no time.
We’ve already found so many book club book contenders on this list, we can keep going for ages!

What do you think? Will 2014 be the best reading year? Tell us what’s on your wishlist and what other books you’re dying to read.
